For Those Still Struggling With The Loss of The 1up Podcasts and EGM

Okay, I know full well that I was struggling with the death of EGM and the loss of a lot of staff over at 1up. Losing the Podcasts was especially sad, I've got the last few episodes of The 1up Show unwatched on iTunes because I know there will be no more once they have gone.

So all that is left now is the 1up website itself. For those unaware, this has been bought by UGO and as with a lot of people, I had it in mind that the site wouldn't be the same and that we would just be looking at UGO's version of 1up.com. However, it looks like this wont be true. In a recent blog from Sam Kennedy in which he talks about the good times at 1up and EGM and their subsequent downfall, he mentions how he, along with other original members of staff, will maintain the previous 1up editorial standards and integrity that have come before. By the sounds of things, UGO had no real intentions of altering the network beyond the loss of EGM, the Podcasts and the unfortunate business of the layoffs.

I felt that his blog was really needed. I personally feel happier returning to 1up's pages after the fallout of the other week, I hope that after reading it, you do too.
